Debtors Anonymous offers various service opportunities that are essential to both individual and collective recovery, and strengthen our fellowship. Service, a crucial Tool, that provides significant rewards and is essential to your recovery program. Opportunities range from local groups to the World Conference. Available Group Service Roles:
- Online Publication Coordinator (OPEN): This role involves managing our group's online documents, calendars, and forms, ensuring they are up-to-date. Strong coordination and adherence to the 12 Steps are essential.
- Secretary (Alex C, 2024/3 Years): Responsible for taking meeting minutes and maintaining accurate records.
- Group Service Representative (GSR) (OPEN): Acts as a liaison, connecting our group to the wider DA structure.
- Treasurer (Sarah O, 2024/3 Years): Manages the group's funds, including collecting contributions.
- Greeters (OPEN to all every meeting): Welcomes newcomers, answers questions, and offers support, which includes providing contact information for ongoing assistance.
- Meeting Leadership (On Rotating Volunteer Basis): Taking on roles such as Meeting Leader, Tech Host, or Chair is a vital contribution to our weekly meetings. Group members can sign-up on the Group Meeting Service Calendar in advance for days that would work better for their schedule. Thank You!
Additional Service Opportunities:
- Sponsorship: A significant one-on-one service, guiding another member through the 12 Steps and sharing your experience, strength, and hope.
- PRG Partner: Participating in a Personal Recovery Group is a transformative service, sharing recovery experiences and supporting others.
- Action Partner: Provides direct support and accountability to another member, contributing to their well-being.
- Meeting Participation: Simply attending meetings, being present, and sharing your experience is a valuable service.
- Personal Initiative: Being available and willing to help in any way, even with small gestures, strengthens our community. Such as volunteering to read.
